Florida Medical Marijuana in 2014
It's such a shame that we live in the most fabulous state in the nation, but politically is one of the most backwards. We are now well into the 21st century and Florida’s republican controlled legislature still wants to waste time arguing over their outdated topics such as abortion, flag burning, and their pathetic war on drugs. Two states in the nation have now decided to completely legalize marijuana for personal use and many others are allowing its use for medical purposes, but Florida in still in the dark ages and no progress is being made at all. There are many people such as myself who are suffering from various medical issues where legal marijuana would give us much relief from our pain, I can go visit my doctor and have them throwing me prescriptions for hardcore narcotics such as roxicet and oxycontin but marijuana is a no-no. Florida is well known for having problems with the pill mills which has caused the deaths of many people in the state, in fact I have known people who have fled the state because they are so fed up with the crime these junkies commit in their areas. These hard drugs do give me relief from the pain that I experience but the overhead is just way too much to bear, after taking these pills for a few days I’m literally a zombie just lying in my bed or on a couch staring into space. That is really no way to live, when I quit taking these drugs I feel so much more alive and enjoy going outdoors and hearing the birds sing and stuff. A couple of nice bowls of good weed and I get all the relief I need from the pain, and it may mellow me out but that is only for an hour or so and there is no danger of an accidental overdose or addiction. Florida is in a position to be a trendsetter and set an example for the other states here in the deep south and legalize marijuana once and for all, we certainly have a lot more serious problems in our state without letting this issue continue to hold us back. It’s time for our government leaders to finally admit that marijuana prohibition has been a huge failure and waste of money, legalize it now and free up all this money and resources for fix our other problems and start to bring tourists back to the great state of Florida.
A couple of weeks ago I was cruising down the road and something happens that I knew would get me eventually, a cop pulled me over for not having a seat belt. It was late at night and he was waiting in the darkness to pounce on me, the cop was young and very polite so I won't hate on him too much. Florida now has that click it or ticket program going on now and that means that all their quotas have increased dramatically, because no cop has ever hassled me about in Florida before in fact I think a majority of them don't even care. It just gives the police one more reason to pull you over and it generates revenue for the state, plus it beats having to chase down real criminals. I think seat belts laws are total bullshit, since most vehicles have air bags now. Hell most of you youngins probably don't remember way back in the days before airbags when no one wore seat belts, hell my airbag don't work either so I totally have been living dangerously all these years. But I really think some safety issues should be personal choice, seat belts are kinda overkill when you have an operating airbag. What's really hipcritical about this law is that it's perfectly legal in the state of Florida to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, what the fudge is up with that? All Florida drivers should do a massive protest over this like the motorcycle people did. Plus it discrimiates against the gangstas cause it's hard to do a drive by shooting when your confined by the seat belts. I mean cmon this is Florida how are you supposed to get a blowjob whole driving down Miami Beach with these kind of draconian laws, I blame the safety nuts in government who ride the safety thing just to make themselves look good and get the votes of whiney mothers everywhere. We need to organize a yearly don't wear your seat belt day in this country and send our leaders a message and give a shout out for freedom.
Welcome to the beginning of what will someday be Florida's most important blog, perhaps we are having delusions of grandeur but I am excited about the possibilities. Florida is the best state in the nation its where everyone wants to be, but our political leaders are doing their best to turn people away. We know how hard things have been in the state since the tourists went away, and we need to do everything we can to start luring the tourists back. Florida ever since the early days has been a party destination, whether is was Disney World with the family or tequila shots on South Beach people come to our state to have a good time. And legalizing marijuana would be a great way to lure them back, plus it would help the thousands of senior citizens that reside in our state with the many health issues.
However I do not intend this page to be just about marijuana legalization, I will discuss other political issues happening in the state and even nationwide sometimes. But I also want to make the page a celebration of Florida and use it as a platform to brag about the state, I love living in Florida and want to make it better and restore it back to its former glory. So everyone jump on and enjoy the ride!
